Cowboys Letterboard

I'm sure the next few posts are going to be about Cowboys Football...
I can't help it... it's a part of who I am.
Tomorrow will be bitter sweet... we are looking to have a great year...
but my dad won't be here to enjoy and cheer the team on with us.
I miss you dad... if heaven wasn't so far away!

Aggie Pride !!!

We have 5 very special birthdays from June 27th - July 25th ... and we wanted to
celebrate them all!  I wanted to find a fun gift for each of them...and when Todd
and I went shopping at Wood Creations in West Haven...
this one caught our eye.  I didn't have a lot of time to get the gifts ready so I
bought the vinyl that was already cut and ready to go.
I did two of these... one for Suzette - my "sister from another mister" and our
long time good friend Dave. Dave and Suzette both graduated from USU and
Suzette has been working for USU for over 25 years... so she is a die-hard
Aggie fan! Dave moved back to Logan after several years away and loves
attending all of the Aggie games he can.  Todd and Dave especially love
the football and basketball games they can go to together!
I painted the wood blocks with 3 coats of Ceramcoat navy blue paint...
then applied the vinyl. I had Todd drill a hole in the top for the wood topper
(I honestly don't remember what they are called) used wood glue to hold it in
place and added 3 different ribbons tied in a bow.
It was awesome listening to the "banter" after they opened their gifts... as to which
school is better... Ahhhh ~ we know the answer to that... Utah State!

BYU... Who???

We have 5 very special birthdays from June 27th - July 25th ... and we wanted to
celebrate them all!  I wanted to find a fun gift for each of them...and when Todd and I
went shopping at Wood Creations in West Haven...
this one caught our eye.  I didn't have a lot of time to get the gifts ready so I
bought the vinyl that was already cut and ready to go.
This one is for my sister-in-law, Rayann.  She graduated from BYU and will always
defend her Alma Mater to the end.  This gift was perfect for her!
I painted the wood block with 3 coats of Ceramcoat white paint... then applied
the vinyl and used some black and blue cream chalking to the sides since
there was a lot of "white space" showing.  I had Todd drill a hole in the top
for the wood topper (I honestly don't remember what they are called)
used wood glue to hold it in place and added 4 different ribbons tied in a bow.

Jaden's Grizzly Pretzels...

Jaden is Kendra's (my daughter-in-law) youngest brother and he plays football for the Logan High Grizzlies!  We were making Halloween pretzels when I thought it would be fun to make some special ones just for Jaden.  We pulled out the red and gold as well as the black candy melts and Kendra decorated away. I made the tag with my Quickutz football die... then cut the letters for his name and #... put the pretzels in a plain cellophane bag, punched a hole in the tag and tied it with red ~ yellow and black ribbons... he loved it and we love him!

Cowboy and Halloween Pretzels...

The cute bag filled with treats...
 Halloween Pretzels...
 Dallas Cowboy Pretzels...
My dad and the cool Cowboy Pretzels...

In keeping with holiday tradition we made our super tasty pretzels. One of the girls at work found these cute football pretzels and thought that I should have them. Mom and I dipped with dad and Kendra were the decorators... Josh even joined in on the fun after he got home from work.  We put the pretzels in these cute bags and I made a cute pumpkin tag by cutting two of the pumpkins and sticking them together (the eyes and mouth would have fallen out... by putting tape over the back of the eyes and mouth and putting the two together you couldn't see the tape... OCD I know... but it looked cuter!) a little chalking to add some depth and they were ready to go.

Custom Dallas Cowboy Mailbox...

 Front and right side...
 Back...
Front and left side... it sits so close to the neighbors mailbox
that I didn't put the street number on this side...
 Front...
 Side view...
A "thank you" on the inside lid so every time
I get my mail... my mail carrier gets a thanks!
My inspiration! Okay lets be honest... Tony is a cutie...
but my true inspiration came from his "throw-back" helmet!

I figured it was time for a new look from last years Cowboy mailbox makeover - see it here.  I used my Silhouette to cut out all of the vinyl and Josh put it on the post today so we are ready to go... I don't know about you... but I'm ready for some football!  Woohooo!

Cowboy Sign and Football...

It's hard to believe that a whole month has gone by and I have not posted anything to my craft blog... it's been a pretty crazy month I have to admit!  I tried to have all of the Cowboy signs ready for Sunday kickoff... but only managed to get 1 "mostly" done.  I used my Silhouette cutter and vinyl for the "Cowboys and the star" and used my Quickutz lettering for the "est. 1960" it was important to Josh since it is their 50th year in the NFL to have that on the board. I love how the football turned out... but I am still trying to figure out if I want to put small stars on the ends or not... Josh and I talked about putting a big "U" for Utah State in the middle instead of the laces... but I think he was worried I would put a big star in the middle instead... I'm sure you have figured out by now that we love our Cowboys... what do you think about putting Cowboy stars on the ends of the football?  Let me know what you think!

Check out how cute my blog friend Kerrie's turned out... She used the "U' for the Utes and the "Y" for BYU... super cute.... and she is selling them for a bargain! Kerrie's Krafts Blog
